  • Background of the event

  • The OCEANS Network is excited to announce that the Annual Conference (AC) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place the 23 & 24 July 2026 Zagreb, Croatia.

    The Annual Conference (AC) is a premier event that brings together students, alumni, university representatives, and stakeholders from the EU and Croatia to explore the pivotal role of international student mobility programs alongside OCEANS members. This event will be open to 80 participants in total and will take place on Thursday, July 23.

    Simultaneously, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) provides a unique opportunity for OCEANS members to discuss international student mobility, exchange experiences, and help shape the future direction of the Network. This year's AGM will host 50 participants in total, and will take place on Friday July 24.

  • The AC and AGM will focus on several critical topics, including international student mobility programs, addressing challenges faced in global education, exploring future initiatives and strategic planning, and fostering cultural exchange and networking opportunities within OCEANS.

  • Who should apply:

  • We invite all active OCEANS Network members who are passionate about international education and active within their departments to apply. We also invite new OCEANS members keen to engage and connect with other fellow OCEANS colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful discussions, network with peers, and play a role in shaping the future of the OCEANS Network.

  • Application Details

  • The timeline for the submitting an expression of interest is as follows:

    • Application Period: April 3 – April 14, 2026.
    • Notification of Acceptance: late April - Early May.
    • Application Form: Available on the OCEANS Online Community Portal.

    N.B.: We encourage you to craft your own personal responses, rather than relying on AI, so that OCEANS Board can genuinely learn about you and your motivations.

    Please be aware that a selection process will be in place, and submission of an application does not guarantee participation. Selected participants will then have to confirm their attendance by registering for the event by the deadline given.

  • Logistics: costs, visa, travel, accommodation, GDPR

  • Selected participants will receive detailed information regarding the agenda, venue, and accommodation options upon acceptance. All costs, including travel, food, and accommodation, will be provided by the EU.

    • Accommodation will be arranged on your behalf for the nights that are needed to attend the event/s. Accommodation may be in twin rooms (two people per room). 
    • In the case of air travel, the Erasmus+ Support Service Team will handle the booking in consultation with the participants.
    • If feasible, we recommend travelling by bus or private car (carpooling is encouraged). Travel costs by private car will be reimbursed upon completion of the reimbursement form and submission of the trip itinerary (0.28 EUR/km). 

    Visa: For participants requiring a Schengen visa, please schedule an appointment at the Embassy of Croatia in your country as soon as possible. ICF will provide a visa invitation letter and assist you throughout the application process. The EU will cover visa processing fees and travel expenses from your hometown to the Embassy of Croatia.

    All visa-related expenses must be submitted to the ESS Team for approval
